Diesel Mechanic

Duties:
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension, and electrical systems across various heavy equipment and vehicles.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, alignment checks, and HVAC system servicing to extend equipment lifespan.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics tools, and automotive diagnostic equipment to identify root causes efficiently.
- Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs.
- Service construction machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other farm or industrial equipment to ensure safety and optimal functionality.
- Assist with heavy lifting and equipment assembly during maintenance or installation projects while adhering to safety standards.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs performed for accountability and future reference.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic; strong background in heavy equipment maintenance is essential.
- Extensive knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and HVAC systems.
- Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting electrical or mechanical issues; familiar with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other construction machinery safely and efficiently.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication tools necessary for repair work.
- Strong mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills; capable of working independently or as part of a team under tight deadlines.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly; commitment to safety protocols at all times.
- Valid certifications in diesel engine repair, air brake systems, electrical diagnostics or related fields are highly desirable, but not mandatory.
